Baratti and Populonia: following the Etruscans
The Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia takes you on a journey through ancient Etruscan civilisation, surrounded by history and beautiful sea views. In the San Cerbone and Grotte burial grounds, you can discover monumental tombs, burial mounds and rock-cut chambers among the Mediterranean vegetation.
At the top of the headland lies the acropolis of Populonia, with the remains of temples, a sacred road, a large Roman house and the impressive Loggia Building. From here, the view across the Gulf of Baratti is truly spectacular.
