Sport and adventure on the Etruscan Coast
If you don’t want to give up being active while on holiday, the Etruscan Coast offers plenty of activities between the sea and the hills. Dive into the crystal-clear waters of the Gulf of Baratti for a snorkelling adventure and discover the colourful marine life hidden among the rocks.
Thanks to the winds that blow along the coastline, this part of Tuscany is very popular with surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and stand-up paddle enthusiasts. Several local schools offer lessons for beginners and equipment hire for those who already have some experience.
Prefer to stay on land? Cycle along Via della Principessa, the scenic road connecting San Vincenzo with the Gulf of Baratti and running beside Rimigliano Coastal Park. The route is also suitable for families. More experienced cyclists can head inland and explore challenging routes through the Tuscan hills, surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation and beautiful views.
